As a M. As an MPhil scholar at the University Department of English, for the first time since my encounters with Higher Education, I had found myself in such a privileged position that I began thinking seriously about a career in academia. The Department as a whole made me realize the viability of my intellectual and personal goals. As someone who had come from a marginalized non-English background, I found the academic environment of the Department is fundamentally distinctive from a college classroom in terms of the nourishment of both inner and outer personality, the cultivation of disciplinary and interdisciplinary research skills and the implementation of a broad and balanced approach to English teaching and the curriculum which was designed to ensure the intellectual and social empowerment of the students and scholars. The Department appeared to me as a popular academic space for creating an intense research culture and dialogue by organizing, at regular intervals, seminars, conferences, workshops and invited talks which not only contributed to my knowledge about the subject but also refined my abilities as a critical thinker. I owe a great deal of gratitude and respect to the most vibrant and distinguished faculty of the Department for their unwavering intellectual support and guidance which made it absolutely possible for me to secure a teaching position at the University of Delhi. I got enrolled in the Masters of Science program, for the subject of Zoology, in University of Rajasthan main campus, in August of last year. My experience with the university since then has been a mixed bag. I find my department (Department of Zoology) invigorating, energizing and full of positive people. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to be taught by some of the best minds, not only in the state but also in the country. The university campus has a lot to offer as well -a very large campus, a swimming pool, a sports complex, multiple canteens, seating areas and gardens, a nursery- among others. The university has also been a host to multiple cultural as well as educational activities. The university on the whole, has a lot of potential and it is on its way to achieve it

I consider my two years of studying at the Department of Zoology at the University of Rajasthan to be a period of extreme change. The most important 5 years of my academic life started at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. It has been great experience studying in this university. As for college experience, Maharani College of University of Rajasthan is a great place.it has been a roller coaster ride but it was a journey worth taking. My journey in the University as a student of Master of Zoology was so fun filled with many opportunities to learn and grow academically and non-academically. Cultural events and festivals helped me to build confidence and discover my skills. The Constitution Park and campus sports ground were the favourite places for us hostel mates. The classrooms were well equipped with projectors and a library with many books.
